About this blog
In thinking of what to name this blog, I looked up ‘life’ in the thesaurus - and the first entry listed the synonyms for ‘spirit’ and ‘animation’, followed by an entry for ‘existence’. And it made my day. I have no idea how the exact ordering of the entries is chosen in the thesaurus, but it just clicked with me because that’s how I have always lived my life: idealism first, realism next.
However, when you really look at it, life is not so much about the spirit or the elan of possibility as it is about the day-to-day trenches of existence. I doubt I have hardly paid much attention to my existence, or have ever thought about it. Which has to change, because I think I have lost touch with what maybe real and essential.
So this time, as I turn 21, I have decided that I should stop looking forward to a brighter day and warmer company, and to just live in the moment. And this micro blog will chronicle just that.
